In the news we've seen some Scientists are 97% sure life is out there on K2-18b.

As seen on BBC and international news.

But how would humans react to the idea of communication with intelligent life? This new release explores just that.

The story started out as with that very question in my mind, 'are humans ready to learn about intelligent life off earth?' This turned into a concept, which quickly turned into a story.

The voice of the title character, Jack Palmer, is relatable to many people - going about his day whilst this huge news unfolds around him. The story is playful and fun but rooted in the believable. There are elements of the unknown in a real world setting, this creates an exciting and engaging world.

The story has something for everyone, as well as following the discovery of alien life, the story also explores topics of family and friendship, loss and trauma. How different people cope with life-changing, traumatic news in a variety of ways. As the story unfolds, an unlikely partnership is formed, with the mission to unite the universe.

I grew up dyslexic and am proud to be a primary school teacher, which was a big motivation to getting this book published and it's great to see relevant news about topics in the book!

As someone who is dyslexic I never expected it to get this far and can't wait for June when people get to enjoy the book. I thought it would be fun and an exciting story and that was my only motivation to begin writing, it's exciting that in 2 months people will get to enjoy it. As a teacher I always want the children to believe anything is possible. I hope the release of this shows them that they can achieve anything, or at the very least, give them the confidence to try!
